The Black Box VG-DVI is an in-line DVI-D EDID Ghost that captures, stores, and emulates Extended Display Identification Data between a video source and a monitor. This process lets the graphics card drive resolutions up to 2560 x 1600 without any manual adjustments.
It is a practical tool for conference rooms, digital signage networks, KVM racks, and test benches where screens are swapped or powered down regularly. Once the module learns the display’s EDID, the computer continues to output the correct signal even if the monitor is disconnected, preventing blank screens and port deactivation.
A front rotary dial provides instant access to fifteen stored EDID profiles, allowing you to compare resolutions or switch between configurations in seconds. Installation is straightforward: connect the two female DVI-D ports between the source and the cable, apply 5 V DC power, and the unit is ready to work.
