The Shure MXW6/C=-Z10 is a boundary transmitter that sits flat on a conference table and connects wirelessly to any Microflex Wireless System. Inside the unit you will find a microphone capsule with a cardioid pickup pattern, so it focuses on the person speaking and less on room noise. Audio travels in both directions, which lets participants listen to interpretation or program feeds through the earphone output while their voice heads to the receiver.
Security is in place through AES 256 bit encryption, and the link stays reliable at distances up to 160 feet when line of sight is available. During the meeting, technicians can adjust gain, mute status, and other settings from the Microflex Wireless control software, which means there is no need to disturb the tabletop once the discussion begins.
The power source uses lithium ion chemistry and is built into the transmitter. It runs for as long as nine hours and reaches a full charge in roughly two hours through the USB 3.0 Type A port. Battery level appears in the control software, a concealed switch deters accidental shutdown, and a low battery LED lets presenters know when it is time to recharge.
A programmable button on the front panel handles muting. You may set it for push to talk, push to mute, or latching operation, so the same microphone can adapt to different meeting styles. Because the MXW6/C=-Z10 rests directly on the table, it eliminates the need for stands or goosenecks and keeps the workspace tidy.
Boardrooms, council chambers, training rooms, and hybrid classrooms all benefit from a boundary microphone that is easy to deploy, protects sensitive information, and stays out of the way. The MXW6/C=-Z10 does all of that while delivering the audio clarity that Shure is known for.
