The Lenovo 4XB7A17072 is a 240 GB solid state drive for ThinkSystem servers that installs in a 2.5 inch hot-swap bay and communicates through a 6 Gb per second SATA interface. Built around 144-layer Intel 3D NAND TLC flash, it is tuned for workloads that perform far more reads than writes.

When the application demands quick access to data, the drive can reach up to 470 MB per second for sequential reads and 233 MB per second for sequential writes. Random activity is also handled efficiently, delivering as many as 45 000 IOPS for 4 KB reads and 16 500 IOPS for 4 KB writes, which helps virtual machines, web pages, or analytics queries load without delay.

The storage media and firmware are designed for durability, supporting an endurance level of 2.5 device writes per day and up to 1 petabyte of total data written during the drive’s life.
