This is a vintage and primitive punch tin lamp, it is Paul Revere style or tart warmer style. It is electric. It can be set table top or on a shelf. The electric light shines through the tin lamp creating a beautiful effect. Removable lid.
In good vintage condition, the tin near the lid does have a dent in it, however, this does not impact the operation of the lid. See photographs for more details.
In good vintage and working condition, the light bulb will be included, it is a tart warmer style light bulb, which in my opinion heats the lamp too much, I would recommend choosing a lower watt more efficient light bulb to use with this lamp. You can find one at your local Lowe's or Home Depot. Bring the old light bulb in and choose a low watt energy efficient replacement.
